Day Three Pass-Rushing Options:

JACK Linebacker- Azur Kamara, Kansas

If the Detroit Lions want to double up on a pass-rusher in the 2020 NFL Draft, then turning to Kansas alum Azur Kamara in the sixth or seventh round would be a good idea. Kamara is a project but he seems to fit what the Lions look for in a JACK for their defense. He has very long arms and can use those to create space and slip by the offensive tackle.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein pointed out that he shows nice control inside to slip off blocks and his closing burst is possibly the most impressive trait about him. He also said that he has hip tightness and needs more time to develop both the physical and mental side of his game.

Defensive End- Nick Coe, Auburn

Auburn’s Nick Coe will best serve his team if they use him as a traditional defensive end and Detroit might like to take a chance on him around the fifth to the sixth round. Coe loves physical contact and isn’t afraid to go head to head in a contest of wills.

The Draft Network’s Kyle Crabbs says that his best trait is his length, but that he needs to work on fixing his counters the most, also stating:

"” Asking him to serve as a two-gap defender is the best way to make the most of his strength and length — but he’s going to need more polish to be a three down player.”"

Interior Defensive Lineman- Jason Strowbridge, North Carolina

During the 2020 Senior Bowl, the Lions’ coaching staff got to be up close and personal with the North Carolina standout, Jason Strowbridge. Patricia himself seemed to pay close attention to Strowbride, giving him a lot of personal coaching. Strowbridge could be high on the list of targets once day three of the 2020 NFL Draft begins.

Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline pointed out that Strowbridge is an explosive interior lineman that stays low and gets under his opponents causing them to get out of place. It was also mentioned that he is quick and fast to change direction, with great instincts as an interior rusher. Strowbridge has already captured the eye of Patricia and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him wearing the Detroit Lions’ Honolulu blue come August.
