2 players to watch for the Bears

Anthony Miller – With lightning-quick receiver Taylor Gabriel likely to miss Thursday’s contest with a concussion, Miler becomes the Bears’ top speed option on the outside. His offensive regression from a season ago, however, has become emblematic of the team’s backsliding; he has yet to reach the end zone this year after scoring seven touchdowns a year ago.

Trubisky is hardly the type of quarterback that will be successful repeatedly targeting pass-catchers deep downfield, but the Lions have been victimized multiple times this year by lesser-known receivers. They would be well-served to keep tabs on Miller should the Bears’ primary offensive threats be kept in check.

Cornelius Lucas – A former backup tackle for the Lions, the hulking Lucas never made much of an impact in Detroit in six starts between 2014-2016. He’s bounced around since then, landing in Chicago this past offseason, starting three games so far this year.

His play this season has been uninspiring, but he may be forced back into a starting role again this Thursday should incumbent right tackle Bobby Massie‘s ankle injury keep him out of the lineup. Can the Lions’ sleepy pass rush take advantage if Lucas is the Bears’ right-side bookend?
