Le’Veon Bell – New York Jets

After a year spent out of football in a contract dispute with the Pittsburgh Steelers, running back Le’Veon Bell landed a massive four-year, $52.5 million deal with the New York Jets with $35 million guaranteed. After all that, it’s hard to imagine the Jets wanting to move on from Bell just six games in.

Yet, the Jets are 1-5. And Bell has only rushed for 326 yards and one score while averaging a pedestrian 3.3 yards per carry. He also has 29 receptions for 175 yards and a touchdown as a receiver out of the backfield.

You had to expect there to be some rust after a year away from football. Plus the Jets refused to play Bell in the preseason. If New York decides their season is done with both the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills (all in the AFC East) having a single loss between them, perhaps a fire-sale will begin.

And although Detroit will likely not like his price tag, Bell is still considered one of the top running backs in the NFL and he’s only 27-years old and is already a three-time Pro Bowler. He’s only a season and a half removed from posting 1,291 rushing yards, 85 catches for 655 yards and 14 total touchdowns in his final season with the Steelers.
