Doug Martin – Free Agent

Many fans know the name, Doug Martin. A former first-round pick out of Boise State, Martin recorded two Pro Bowl seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His first as a rookie, rushing for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2012. Then, three years later posting 1,402 yards and six scores in 2015.

Yet, Martin’s career has been marred by injuries and inconsistent play. Yet, he still managed to play six years in Tampa Bay and spent last season posting decent numbers as a member of the Oakland Raiders.

In 16 games last year, Martin recorded 723 yards and four touchdowns while averaging a respectable 4.2 yards per carry.

At age 30, Martin still figures to be a decent option for Detroit. Here’s a former Pro Bowler who has been a veteran running back in the league for seven years and started nine games just last season. There aren’t many players on the open market who have that kind of résumé.
