3. Calvin Johnson ” Megatron”, WR (2007-2015)

Calvin Johnson was a blessing for the Detroit Lions and the NFL in general. Between his superior play and friendly character, Johnson was just great for the league. He was the type of role model that kids need these days. Megatron was easily the best at his position in his time, but we never heard of any of the drama or troubles that some of the greats seem to have today.

Johnson played his entire nine-year NFL career in Detroit for the Lions from 2007-2015. As the premier wide receiver of his time, Johnson was feared by any and every defense that had to face him. This includes the defensive coordinators that had the tall task of trying to game plan for him, and I mean trying.

Megatron appeared in 135 career games with 130 starts. Johnson has 731 career receptions for 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns. Johnson also rushed for 167 yards and one touchdown. This is quite impressive considering that Megatron often found himself in double and even triple coverage.

Within Johnson’s nine-year NFL career he accomplished many feats. He is a six-time Pro Bowler, three-time First-Team All-Pro, and a one-time Second-Team All-Pro. He was also the NFL reception leader in 2012 and NFL receiving touchdowns leader in 2008, but before it all, Megatron was a member of the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2007.

Without question, this future Hall of Famer deserves to be on this list and I’m sure that no one would disagree with that.
