2019 NFL Mock Draft: All 7-Rounds, Every pick – Detroit Lions trade down
With the 20th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select…
The Steelers need a reliable number one cornerback in their secondary to shut down the star receivers that are in their division. The Steelers must defend against AJ Green, Jarvis Landry, Tyler Boyd, and Odell Beckham Jr twice a year every year. Adding Williams to the secondary gives them a guy that can potentially take those stars out of games, or at least keep them bottled up.
Williams isn’t the best at tackling or providing run support, but those things can be fixed over time with good coaching. Williams has all of the athletic tools to become a top ten corner in the league. He just needs to improve his willingness to tackle, clean up a few minor technique issues, and improve his work ethic and he could very easily live up to his potential.
