The Detroit Lions will officially be on the clock in less than a week. Here’s a final look at what the Lions could choose do during draft weekend.

The 2019 NFL Draft will kick off in less than week on April 25th at 8:00 p.m. eastern time. The Detroit Lions currently hold the eighth overall draft pick in the first round, and have at least one pick in all other rounds, including two in the sixth and seventh rounds.

Will the Lions choose to make a selection with their first pick? Or will they choose to trade back; or perhaps even trade up? We will all know soon enough!

The Lions are looking to go into this and contend for an NFC North title and playoff birth. To do so they will need to pick up contributors, and maybe a starter or two, at tight end, cornerback, offensive guard, and defensive end. They should also be looking for help at wide receiver and linebacker.

The Lions will pick behind only the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants, and Jacksonville Jaguars. They will pick directly in front of the Buffalo Bills. The Lions could see some serious talent fall to them at the eighth pick if another team decides to trade up above them for a quarterback.

With nine picks in the draft and a general manager who likes to trade around, don’t expect the picks they have now to be the picks they finish the draft with. However, because trades are so difficult, nearly impossible, there are no trades in this seven round mock draft. Now, here is my final 2019 seven round mock draft for the Detroit Lions.
