Wide Receiver. Fresno State. player. 50. Pick Analysis. KeeSean Johnson. 146. Scouting Report

The Lions need to add another talented receiver to that group and getting Johnson in the fifth round would be an amazing addition to the group. While the Lions would like to find a replacement for Golden Tate, who was a big part of the offense, they do have Danny Amendola on a one year deal and Brandon Powell who had a breakout Week 17 last year.

Drafting Johnson would give the Lions options for the future and help them now as well. Marvin Jones has been a great addition so far, but the Lions may want to move on once his contract expires depending on the money he may be looking for.

Drafting Johnson in the fifth lets the Lions plan ahead for that by grooming his replacement in Johnson for a year, who can play in the slot and outside, and would let them see what they have in Powell in the slot.

Johnson has good hands, is a very good route runner, and when he is on the field he is never lacking in effort. Johnson would be the perfect replacement for Jones once he gets a year or two of experience under his belt. In his senior year at Fresno State, Johnson put up 1,340 yards and eight touchdowns on 95 receptions.
