A’Shawn Robinson – Defensive Tackle

I’d hate for this to happen but an early preseason demotion and furious locker room outbursts might suggest a mutual parting could come to pass. It’s a contract year and if he’s not in the Lions’ future plans, better cash in before there’s nothing to get in return when he hits the open market.

Robinson is still a developing defensive tackle that offers little as a pass rusher, but his youth (24 in March), run stuffing ability and progression are tantalizing. I’m not suggesting it nor would I endorse it but there’s talented replacements that could exceed his potential early in this draft. Thus a trade isn’t so far-fetched.

Asking price per draft pick: 3rd-4th round

Expected draft compensation: 4th-5th round

Best trade type based on value: Player for draft pick

Best time to exercise trade: Offseason (Pre draft)
