Final Thoughts

Much like the final game against the Packers last year, this game echoed that one in a few ways. Last year Rodgers didn’t play at all, this year Rodgers started but he quickly gave way to his understudy due to injury.

Last year, the Lions got fancy with their play calling with a trick play on a two-point conversion, this year a fake field goal led to a Detroit touchdown.

Both games ended with blowout wins for the Lions. This game may have been meaningless for some but apparently, the Lions didn’t get that memo.

From the very beginning, they came out motivated, showed creative play calling, and more importantly, they executed well by scoring touchdowns instead of settling for field goals or being forced to punt.

As a Lions fan, you have to wonder why games like today’s couldn’t have happened sooner. If they could have captured today’s lightning in a bottle much earlier in the season, who knows how things could have progressed.

As I alluded to earlier in this post, change is most definitely in store for Coach Patricia and his organization this offseason.

Next. What if Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia don’t succeed in 2019?. dark

I still have faith that with a year’s worth of experience under his belt, he will be able to right this ship and get thing headed in the right direction. No fan base is as deserving to root for a winner as Detroit’s is but unfortunately, it looks like we will have to wait for at least another year.
