Final Thoughts

Once again Detroit’s defense showed glimpses of what they could grow to be but their efforts proved to come up a day late and a dollar short in order to make something positive happen in this game.

Offensively, the Lions looked to be two to three steps behind their usual pace and that has been the case for the entire season thus far.

Even prior to the injuries piling up, bad execution has been their bugaboo from the very beginning. Uninspired play calling on offense has only confounded Detroit’s struggles this year.

One can only hope that soon Detroit will finally become a team that fully achieves its potential instead of annually failing to live up to the hype.

As this NFL regular season draws to a close next week, the Lions will find themselves at the legendary frozen tundra of Lambeau Field on the second to last day of the year against a Green Bay Packers squad that has had a down year by their own usually lofty standards.
