Detroit Lions defensive line

This may be the most complete unit of the Michigan depth chart and one of the worst for the Lions; the depth charts are from Ourlads and the Detroit Lions.

For starters, end-tackle Rashaan Gary (6-4, 283, 4.67) is most likely a top ten pick if he decides to leave college. After him, there are a number of future pro’s, too. Chase Winovich (6-3, 255, 4.83) is a high-motor end-outside linebacker who could be used in the edge pressure scheme of head coach Matt Patricia and coordinator Paul Pasqualoni.

Both of them would start for the Lions right now; Winovich is currently ranked 7th among 2019 DE prospects, which will probably see him drafted by Round 3.

After the two top players, Michigan has good depth and future pro prospects. Lawrence Marshall and Bryan Mone are both 5th-year seniors and have served as backups or occasional starters. Marshall (6-3, 285) is an unranked tackle, but Mone (6-3, 335, 5.27) checks in at number 14.

Other linemen ahead of them are tackles, Carlo Kemp (6-2, 280, unranked), Michael Dwumfour (6-2, 285, ranked 23rd), and end Josh Uche (6-2, 238, unranked) who are juniors. Uche, who played a lot while Gary was hurt, is leading the team with 7.0 sacks on the season.

Aubrey Solomon (6-2, 287) and Kwity Paye (6-3, 260) are underclassmen who are ascending the depth chart, as well. Like many prospects, NFL Draft Scout doesn’t rank ineligible players or players who aren’t likely to leave their university.

Of the 37 players listed for 2019-2020, 19 are ranked high enough to say that they are likely to be drafted, while quite a few others will attend camp with an NFL team.

It is reasonable to think that Mone, Dwumfour, and possibly others could help besides Gary and Winovich.
