Not only is Lang due to be replaced, Rick Wagner, the right tackle, is 29 and after year 3 of his current deal, but he can also be let go instead of paying him another $12M per year; those figures according to Spotrac. Wagner is in Year 2 of a possible 5 years, the last three years pay him $9 million in base salary with signing bonuses that add up to about $10 million in total.

Prince offers experience and potential at tackle. If the Lions drafted both Prince and Bredeson, the following year every starter would be under 28 years old and a 4th Round pick or higher. Again, Quinn likes Power 5 products and Prince has an ideal height-speed ratio for a big man.
