Commentary

By this point in the draft, you’re looking for upside, special teams guys, filler for your roster. In this case, Igwebuike looks like he can play, is athletic, and faster than any safety we have on the roster, at 4.49 in the forty-yard dash. He adds speed and a true strong safety with very good measureables.

There aren’t a ton of players I considered, again, I’m trying to address some needs. You can see above that the only running backs left aren’t very proven, although Ballage and Scarborough tested well at the combine. I could’ve gone receiver, or depth along the defensive line, too.

This is also the pick before we miss an entire round, so I tried to make it count. By this pick I had an edge defender, a running back, a tight end, a guard-center-tackle, and a safety. I’d feel very good about that haul.

My Pick: Godwin Igwebuike, safety.
