3rd Round, 82nd Overall Selection

Lorenzo Carter, Linebacker, Georgia

The Lions have big decisions to make at outside linebacker in free agency with Tahir Whitehead and Paul Worrilow.

Even with the departure of only one of those two, Detroit needs to find a replacement and drafting Lorenzo Carter out of the University of Georgia makes good sense.

Carter would bring impressive length and the capability to cover wide ranges to the Lions’ linebacking corps.

He can also provide help with the pass rush in getting to the quarterback and forcing fumbles.

That trait will serve Detroit well as they look to remain as a top 5 turnover forcing team.

From rushing the passer to dropping back in coverage, Lorenzo Carter would be a valuable addition to the team.
