Detroit Lions housecleaning: Coordinators and fixing the offense

Running backs
This position has also come under great scrutiny this season as all of the runners on the roster have been largely healthy, unlike in 2016. Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick, our two top runners have been available almost all season and yet our running game is still in the bottom few in the league.
In preseason we were told that the additions to the line and a healthy set of running backs would cure, or at worst, steadily improve, the rushing attack.
We all know now that the sentiment is false. The line has not been healthy at catastrophic levels, but even when the blocking has looked good, our backs seem to get curiously little in production.
The players behind Abdullah and Riddick have seen little time, but had some success. Tion Green, the rookie, free agent runner, had a couple of nice runs and has a bit more size than the starters.
I would look for the Lions to add at least one draft pick to the roster here, before next season. Saquon Barkley, Derrius Guice, Damien Harris, Bryce Love, and Ronald Jones II are all highly rated runners who are likely available this upcoming draft. You can peruse their measurables here.
