Linebackers

Jarrad Davis, rookie middle linebacker, is doing an exceptional job manning the middle of the defense. Tahir Whitehead, at one time thought to be expendable, has done a good job at the weak side backer position. Whitehead has done well since moving from the middle spot now occupied by Davis. After that, the talent seems to fall off a bit. The Lions have used Paul Worrilow and rookie Jalen Reeves-Maybin at the Sam, or strong-side backer.

Candidates:

Outside linebackers- The middle linebacker spot is good; Jarrad Davis has been as good as advertised. Paul Worrilow and Tahir Whitehead have been adequate, but unspectacular. Not to mention the injuries which have cost the defense multiple games.

Malik Jefferson, Texas, Jr, 6-3, 240
Jerome Baker, Ohio State, Jr, 6-1, 225
Marquis Haynes, Ole Miss, Sr, 6-3, 225
Davin Bellamy, Georgia, Sr, 6-5, 240
Tegray Scales, Indiana, Sr, 6-0, 230
Mike McCray, Michigan, Sr, 6-4, 248
