Take a pass on all of them. I know you think I’m insane. But when I look at this class outside of Tunsil and perhaps Ronnie Stanley of Notre Dame, all I see is a bunch of Riley Rieff’s. It’s not a horrible thing. Reiff isn’t the worst offensive lineman in the NFL. Not even close. So if you know that no matter where you pick, you’re going to have a project, why not pick a position that is ready to go?

The defensive tackle class is probably the deepest defensive tackle class there has ever been. There are tons of guys that would grade out as first rounders that will find themselves falling into the second and third rounds based purely off the fact that many teams have other pressing needs. For the Lions, defensive tackle is one of those pressing needs. So why not strike when the iron is hot and grab the best available defensive tackle that’s on the board when 16 rolls around?

Louisville’s Sheldon Rankins, Baylor’s Andrew Billings and Alabama’s Jaran Reed are the guys you’ll want to keep an eye on come next Thursday.
