Quarterbacks and Running Backs

Matthew Stafford is the Lions’ starting quarterback until he’s 40. If the Lions want someone better than Orlovsky as their backup, or if they want a third stringer to groom, they can probably find him on Day 3 of the draft. Dak Prescott, Cardale Jones, Vernon Adams and Nate Sudfeld are a few names to note.

As far as running backs go, the Lions have already cut Joique Bell, leaving them with Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick, George Winn and Zach Zenner to tote the rock. Riddick is the receiving threat, Abdullah is the home run threat and while Zenner has a ton of upside as the bruiser, the Lions may want an upgrade there. Tim Hightower, Chris Ivory and LeGarrette Blount are some possibilities in free agency, while Jonathan Williams, Jordan Howard and C.J. Prosise are some later round draft options.
