They won’t sign a receiver

At this point it’s a forgone conclusion that Calvin Johnson will retire. But that does not make wide receive the Lions biggest need this offseason. The Lions still need to fix up their offensive line, defensive line, safety, special teams and linebacker positions. A high priced receiver doesn’t do you a lick of good if your quarterback is running for his life and the defense allows too many points.

Besides the Lions have their number one receiver already in Golden Tate. They also have other receiving threats in Eric Ebron and Theo Riddick. If the Lions can get their run game going in 2016, they will be just fine in the passing game. Don’t get me wrong, the Lions should still grab a receiver in the draft to pair up with Golden Tate. But piling money on a wide receiver to replace Calvin Johnson is like piling Rogaine on your head to fix your balding issues. You’ll never come close to your real hair.

Speaking of the draft.
