To be honest, I don’t know how Pettigrew has lasted this long. Most will argue that Pettigrew helps out on the blocking aspect of things. But the fact that Stafford has been sacked 67 times since week one in 2014, and the Lions have not ranked higher than 17th in the run game in his time in Detroit, it’s pretty hard to see that excuse as anything other than lame.

The Lions are handcuffed to everything you hate

Not only has Pettigrew regressed in the blocking game, he’s also all but disappeared in the receiving game. That’s awful for a guy that was once thought of as a candidate to be one of the better tight ends in the NFL someday. How much longer can the Lions allow Pettigrew to hold down a roster spot?
