I’m sorry, but even I cannot believe I just typed that name on this list. Coming into the season, the buzz around this years rookie quarterback class was that Jameis Wintson was an NFL caliber signal caller and that Mariota would struggle to learn reads and throw from the pocket.

Now, as we enter just week two of fantasy football, I sit here, giving my case to you as to why you need to own this former Oregon Duck. Really, what it comes down to is a popular strategy this season — streaming quarterbacks.

It’s something that I’m truly not a fan of, however there are defiantly a lot of owners out there doing it. If you’re one of those aforementioned people, and your QB in week one was say, Trendy Bridgewater, maybe you’re already either regretting this game plan or are at least ready to make a change for week two.

That’s where Mariota comes in.

In 16 attempts against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week one, Maritoa threw four touchdowns, zero interceptions and 209 yards. Not a bad ratio.
