This isn’t the first time I’ve brought up Joe Mcknight as an option for the Lions. Maybe it won’t be the last. McKnight is a curious case to me. When I see him, I see a guy that isn’t good enough to be a number one running back, but can produce if given the chance.

The Lions are set at the running back position as far as depth goes. But what they really need is someone to return kicks. McKnight could be that guy. during his time with the New York Jets McKnight spent two seasons as the teams kick returner. Mcknight was impressive notching over 1,000 yards returning in both seasons. That’s pretty good considering Ross had 584 last year and 514 in 2013.

McKnight will likely continue to struggle trying to find a team to play for in 2015 due to his injury history, But if I’m the Lions, I would make that search a little bit shorter.
