Detroit Lions wide receiver Ryan Broyles may be embarking on his final chance to make an impact with the team that drafted him in the second round of the NFL Draft.

He’ll also be facing his toughest competition yet.

The situation that Broyles faced in 2014 was an interesting one to say the least. The former Oklahoma Sooner rarely seen the field during the regular season, despite three games missed by Pro Bowler Calvin Johnson.

Broyles voiced his frustration publicly, but Jim Caldwell chose to keep him around.

In 2015, Broyles will compete against guys like Corey Fuller, Jeremy Ross, TJ Jones and Lance Moore to be one of the five or six wideouts that the Lions keep on their final 53 man roster.

Broyles spoke with MLive.com’s Kyle Meinke during team OTA’s in Allen Park in June, having this to say about what it would take to earn a spot on this team in 2015.

"“Just got to make plays, man. All you can do is make plays, and then you leave it in the coaches’ hands.”"

If things really are that simple, than you’re likely lead to believe that Broyles is a near shoe-in to make this club this season.

So far at team activities and practices, Broyles has reportedly caught nearly everything thrown in his direction. Perhaps with a strong showing at training camp, the picture will be made a bit more clear as to where he stands in relation to this team’s 2015 roster.
