Arizona Cardinals

While the Cardinals may not have the most stellar defense in the league, they are solid. Last season they only ranked 24th overall in defense, but the Detroit Lions have struggled with them in the past. One benefit Detroit has this year, is this game is on home turf for the first time in years.

The Cardinals defense has been reworked a little bit for the 2015 season, and looks to be coming together quite well, on paper anyways. How they play out is all to be determined. But, with Cory Redding as a defensive end on the line, LaMarr Woodley at outside linebacker, and Patrick Peterson at the corner position, it could play out well for the Cardinals. Their 3-4 defense should open up pretty well for the Detroit Lions offense, but if they aren’t on their game, the Cardinals could very well take advantage of that.

There is a lot of youth within their defense, and with that youth comes a lot of talent. Even though they are unknown as far as how they will perform together as a whole, the talent alone that’s there earns them a spot in the top 5 to face this season.
