Earlier in June, I gave you the breakdown of the top 5 games to watch this season for the Detroit Lions.
Now, I would like to talk about the top 5 wide receivers the team will face this season in their schedule. The Lions have a tough schedule ahead of them in 2015. Some teams fare better in the passing game than the running game, some vice versa, and some that are complete offenses. The games this year will definitely test the defense which, statistically wise, was the 13th best passing defense in the NFL in 2014.
While the secondary hasn’t seen much change, roster wise, from last season, they should come together better this year with players like Darius Slay, Rashean Mathis, Glover Quin, and James Ihedigbo leading the charge. It looks as if Quandre Diggs is also showing an impact as a well-rounded rookie who could plug-in pretty readily. The depth and talent are there in the secondary.
Teryl Austin seems to have a good grasp on the Detroit Lions defense and what they are capable of. He was very good in the 2014 season at showing offenses different looks of the defense while managing to run completely different plays. This should work out in Detroit’s favor yet again this season.
So, who will be the top receivers they will face in 2015? Let’s get started and see.
