2. Offensive Line

Prior to the 2015 NFL Draft, Detroit Lions fans everywhere were not shy of speaking their opinions involving the Lions weakest link in 2014 — the offensive line.

Most expected Lions general manager Martin Mayhew to hit NFL Free Agency hard in search of some big name talents to come in and help correct the issue. That was not the case however, and it wasn’t until the draft that Mayhew finally silenced a lot of his critics.

It was there that Detroit picked up former Lion Manny Ramirez and drafted Duke guard Laken Tomlinson in the first round. Both of these guys, along with second year player Travis Swanson are the three most worthy of your attention over the summer months as far as the offensive line is concerned.

The Lions are said to be currently unsure as to how they plan to utilize each individuals talents, although early belief is that Swanson will start at center, Tomlinson at left guard with Ramirez serving as a back up to both positions.

Ramirez has said however that he would like to start, so I fully expect for these guys to be in competition mode from day one.
