“Dig” as he’s called by teammates thanks to his post-play celebrations, Ihedigbo has stabilized the safety position with solid, responsible play along with Glover Quin, and formed quite an impressive tandem.

Few thought the Lions were right to pass on drafting a safety to instead sign the veteran Ihedigbo, but with every steady play he makes, he looks like a significant difference maker for the defense.

He seems like an extra coach on the field. Experience isn’t overrated, and Ihedigbo has plenty to rely on considering he’s been a mainstay in the playoffs. That could figure in huge for Detroit during the second half.
