I think the Lions are one injury away from a very bad situation at the safety spot. Luckily for them both of their starters have remained relatively healthy over the last few seasons. Beyond Ihedigbo and Quin the Lions have a pair of safeties more suited for that fourth spot than the third. Both Carey and Abdul-Quddus are solid special teams players who have shown little value as starters in the NFL. It also doesn’t help that Carey has had an extremely poor showing in camp so far.
