In the initial post I suggested that Lions fans shouldn’t be kept up at night by the Lions kicking situation. Well, I was wrong. Neither Nate Freese nor Giorgio Tavecchio have been able to separate themselves, and both look to be fighting for a job.
Sam Matin, by all reports, has been terrific all throughout camp. He may not have been a popular choice during last year’s draft, but he’s proving to be well worth the investment the Lions made in him. Several times during camp he’s booted the football over 70 yards. That’s a nice weapon to have during the season.
