If they win out:
Despite their temporary control of the division, the Bears need help to lock up the NFC North. If they win out, all they do is ensure that the Lions need to also win out to secure the division. However, if the Bears win out and the Lions drop one of their last three, they can sneak in and win the division.
If they lose out:
If the Bears lose out, there is an outside chance that the Bears could sneak in at 8-8, if the Lions lose out and the Packers lose next week. That’s a lot of “if,” though, and the Bears would probably just rather handle things themselves.
Teams they’re rooting against:
Detroit, Green Bay, Dallas, Philadelphia
