Ravens Passing Offense vs. Lions Pass Defense
The defending Super Bowl champs are 20th in the NFL in passing yard per game, led by Joe Flacco. He’s been sacked 41 times this season and has thrown 17 interceptions against 18 touchdowns. Detroit’s defensive line has a great opportunity to redeem itself after a disappointing showing in Philadelphia a week ago. If they can pressure Flacco, members of the Lions back seven may end up with the ball in their hands.
Torrey Smith leads the team in receptions and yards, but after that there is a significant drop off. However, Dennis Pitta is back from injury and is a legitimate weapon in the passing game. Say what you want about Joe Flacco, but Detroit will need it’s linebackers and defensive backs to play well if they want to have a shot at stopping the Ravens through the air. Detroit’s ability to put pressure on the quarterback could determine how this one plays out in the end.
