Last week I came up with seven reasons the Detroit Lions would be a dumpster fire in 2016. This week I wanted to look at the off-season through a different lens.

While there are plenty of question marks going into the season, the Lions aren’t completely devoid of talent. Here are seven more reasons the Lions will make the playoffs this year.

7. Receivers That Can Catch

In addition to  Golden Tate and Theo Riddick, Marvin Jones also has great hands. The Lions should have a trio of pass catchers that don’t drop many passes and can compliment the style of offense Jim Bob Cooter ran in the second half of 2015.

While drops have plagued Eric Ebron through his first two years, he actually improved greatly in year two. After catching just 53% of his targets (25 of 47) in 2014, the second year TE pulled down 67% of his 2015 targets (47 of 70).

There is also Ameer Abdullah, who has shown pretty good hands, and WR TJ Jones (finally healthy) seems poised to make an impact this year as well.
