3. WR DJ Chark

It may feel like I have an obsession with Chark leaving the Lions in free agency. But it’s because I’m behind the idea of letting him go if his market gets too rich, and I fear the Lions will buy too much into a good closing stretch to this season and overpay in a shallow free agent class of wide receivers.

But maybe I should trust general manager Brad Holmes more, and assume lines will be drawn in terms of years and money. If Chark can get more elsewhere, than so be it–that’s my philosophy, and maybe it’s where the Lions stand too. Chark has said he wants to be back, for whatever it’s worth in the forums he has said it in.

Beyond D.J. Moore, the Panthers simply lack good players at wide receiver. They definitely have a question to address at quarterback this offseason, but a big step toward getting the best out of whoever is under center is having better talent around them.

The Panthers front office got a close look at Chark when he was fully healthy this season, as he had a 100-yard game against them in Week 16. He would be a nice complement to Moore, if the Panthers have the ability and/or willingness to get into the market for him. Staley could be an internal endorser for Chark in Carolina.
