Dak Prescott/Andy Dalton, QB – Dallas Cowboys

We’re lumping these two together as they come from the same team. Dak Prescott is set to become the NFL’s hottest free agent in March if the Cowboys opt to move on from him, which seems very unlikely.

Dallas used a franchise tag to retain Prescott last year. Unfortunately, a devastating ankle injury ended his season in Week Five. That after Dak was on a pace to break the NFL’s single-season passing yardage record.

Recovering well from his injury, the 27-year old is expected to demand top dollar on the open market if the Cowboys don’t ink him to a long-term deal. Dallas also has the option of using their franchise tag once again to retain Prescott for another season, making his exodus unlikely.

As a consultation prize, it appears that Andy Dalton will be looking for a new home in 2021. The longtime Cincinnatti Bengals starter and three-time Pro Bowl passer led the Cowboys on a three-game winning streak over the last month of the season in Dallas.

While Dalton isn’t an attractive free agent option as a potential replacement for Stafford, pairing the veteran with a rookie quarterback might be ideal. This would allow the Lions to turn to Dalton if the first-year passer isn’t ready to start right away.
