‘Ending the Lambeau Streak’ 2015

If you were going to predict when the Lions would finally break their two decade losing streak at Lambeau Field, you probably would have picked any game but this one. The Lions were 1-7, Martha Ford had just gone on a firing spree, and despite a few recent losses, Green Bay was 6-2.

And of course, there was the whole “24 straight home wins over the Lions” thing too. This 18-16 Lions win was most notable for a series of late game blunders that kept giving the Packers second chances at the end.

Just minutes after a Stafford touchdown to Lance Moore should have been the dagger, a Matt Prater extra point miss, a reversed fumble recovery in the final minutes, a botched onside kick recovery from Calvin Johnson, and some late Rodgers heroics put Green Bay in field goal position on the final play.

Thankfully, Mason Crosby’s field goal was either shanked or blocked (even on the video, I can’t tell for sure), and Stafford came away with his first road win in Green Bay. Full game available at the NFL’s official YouTube channel: click here
