Offensive Line

KC – Run blocking rank, 28th. Pass protection rank, 4th with 25 sacks allowed.

SF – Run blocking rank, 8th. Pass protection rank, 15th with 36 sacks allowed.

DET – Run blocking rank, 20th. Pass protection rank, 19th with 43 sacks allowed.

Conclusion – Both the Chiefs and the 49ers ranked in the top 10 in one of the categories, the Detroit Lions did not. Bob Quinn’s investments in the offensive line through free agency and the draft has yielded below average results.

Defensive Line

KC – Defending against the run rank, 28th. Rushing the passer rank, 10th with 45 sacks.

SF – Defending against the run rank, 13th. Rushing the passer rank, 2nd with 48 sacks.

DET – Defending against the run rank, 23rd. Rushing the passer rank, 31st with 28 sacks.

Conclusion – The defensive line position group has to be the most disappointing for the Detroit Lions given the additions of defensive end Trey Flowers and defensive tackle Mike Daniels. Detroit has a long way to go up front defensively.
