More Stafford moments from the 2013 season

15. Move over, Bobby Layne (Nov. 17, 2013)

This could be a knock on decades of earlier Lions quarterbacks more than anything, but it took Stafford less than four full seasons to set the franchise record for career passing yards.

On the same pass, a 79-yard touchdown to Calvin in single coverage, Stafford got both his 100th career touchdown pass and moved ahead of Bobby Layne to become Detroit’s all-time leading passer.

16. First place after Thanksgiving (Nov. 28. 2013)

Two years after throwing for 520 yards and five touchdowns and still somehow getting out-dueled by Matt Flynn, the two quarterbacks faced off again.

And order in the universe was restored. #9 passed for 330 yards and three TDs, and the 40-10 Lions win made up for two consecutive bad losses to put them back in control of the NFC North for the time being.

This Thanksgiving win was Detroit’s first since 2003, breaking a frustrating nine game losing streak in the traditional holiday game.
