With the 27th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select…

Scouting Report. Washington. Byron Murphy. 27. 28. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. player

After revamping their offense with the first two picks, the Raiders take one of the top corners in the draft and add instant starter Byron Murphy to the defense. The Raiders really only have one decent player at corner in former first round pick Gareon Conley, so adding Murphy to the mix should immediately upgrade the pass defense.

Murphy is a physical corner and can match up with just about any wide receiver he faces and can play in most schemes too. The Raiders get Murphy and pair him up with Conley, giving them a solid 1-2 punch at the position.
