2019 NFL Mock Draft: All 7-Rounds, Every pick – Detroit Lions trade down
With the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select…
The Eagles need some help in the secondary after having one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL last year. They could look to add either a cornerback or safety in the first round of the draft, but here they take the best safety in the draft. Gardner-Johnson is a impact guy who can come in and start for your defense almost anywhere a team needs him to do.
Gardner-Johnson is a hard hitting safety that will bring physicality to the Eagles’ backfield and a safety that can both cover and provide elite support in the run game. In the Eagles’ defense he would probably start alongside returning safety Malcolm Jenkins, but no matter where he plays it would give the Eagles a much improved secondary.
