With the 12th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select…

Tight End. Iowa. Noah Fant. 12. player. 49. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

After using multiple picks on a wide receiver in last year, I don’t think they go that direction in round one. However, Jimmy Graham is getting older and they could use a better, younger, and faster option at tight end. Giving quarterback Aaron Rodgers a threat like Fant would open up the passing game even more and give defenses a tough time on Sundays.

Fant is a better blocker than Graham and would be able to easily bypass him on the depth chart. Having Fant would make it difficult for defenses to game plan. They would have to rely on their top corner or top linebacker being able to shut down either Fant or receiver Davante Adams without the help of a safety as the safety would have provide support to the player the coaches’ deemed more in need of help. Either way, the Packers’ offense would have two mismatch pass catchers on the field at all times, making it nearly impossible to stop the offense.
