Green Bay Packers

Bye: Week 11

Vs. Lions: Week 6 (home), Week 17 (away)

Primetime Games: Week 1 (at CHI / TNF), Week 4 (vs. PHI / TNF), Week 6 (vs. DET / MNF), Week 8 (at KC / SNF), Week 16 (at MIN / MNF)

The Packers will be under serious pressure in 2019. With a transcendent yet aging and injury-prone quarterback in Aaron Rodgers and a rookie head coach in Matt Lafleur, the frozen tundra will be under a microscope this season. A difficult upcoming schedule will only add to the challenge.

Like the Lions, the Packers also have an arduous opening month of the season including divisional match ups with the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. They also face the Philadelphia Eagles at home and the Dallas Cowboys on the road prior to their Week 6 Monday Night Football game against the Lions. Woof.

Should the Packers weather that opening storm, their season could hinge on a pair of brutal road games in Weeks 8 and 9, against the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers, respectively. Come out of that maelstrom at or above .500, and the Packers will be in good shape. It’s simply one of the toughest schedules of any NFL team in 2019.

In a nice twist, Green Bay finishes the season with three straight games against each division rival, including the season finale against the Lions at Ford Field. This marks the fourth straight season that the Lions and Packers will face each other in Week 17, with the Lions coming out on top in each of the last two meetings.

Detroit has dominated this rivalry in recent seasons, winning the last four games in a row. It must be noted though, that Rodgers played in only two of those tilts, and was knocked out of the game early in another one. Needless to say, should Rodgers be sidelined for any of the aforementioned key dates, the Packers could be in for another long season.
