Analysis: When the Detroit Lions selected safety Tracy Walker with their third round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, it seemed apparent that the clock was ticking on Glover Quin’s career in Motown. Having just turned 33-years old earlier this month, the 10-year veteran is considering retirement this offseason.

Father Time is undefeated and Quin was showing signs of his age in 2018. He didn’t record a single interception for the first time in eight years. But the iron man did play in all 16 games, not having missed a single contest since his rookie season back in 2009.

Walker was impressive in limited action and is clearly the favorite to replace Quin in Detroit. That could force the 10-year veteran to take a reserve role in 2019 if the Lions opt to get the younger player more experience.
