Darius Slay is awesome. Nothing to add here, he's great. No pass rush is going to suck for the entire secondary, including Slay, but I think he'll find a way. pic.twitter.com/lV9uQHrDub

As you can see, by comparison, Slay is elite in terms of speed. He is above average in every facet of his athleticism. There’s a big drop-off from our number 1 corner to anyone else. Jamal Agnew checks in as the next best athlete at cornerback, if healthy he might be the best we could do after Darius Slay.
Jamal Agnew is an all pro return man, and I expect more of that. He's also taken on some nickel reps and I hope to see if he's improved in that regard as well. pic.twitter.com/B99PATP1bW

Agnew, a slot corner, is actually about the same size as Nevin Lawson who has been working as the other starter for much of the last two years. Although not big for his position, many of Jamal Agnew’s scores show that he is athletically superior to many of his peers and that he has better upside than his San Diego experience indicated. Agnew is a Pro Bowl caliber punt returner and was the top slot cornerback on the roster prior to getting hurt in 2018.
