Tavon Wilson, Safety
During my piece predicting what Detroit should do in free agency, I made an ill-timed reference about Wilson having to “look over his shoulder” with regard to his job.

Considering his struggle with a shoulder injury throughout the year and how it eventually ended his season, I should have been more cognizant of my words.
It was truly an unintentional gaffe and I sincerely apologize.
During his two seasons in Detroit, Tavon Wilson was a very good player and I enjoyed his contributions. I was concerned when I saw that his season was over.
Those concerns disappeared after Quandre Diggs’ performance as Wilson’s substitute.
I’ve stated before that I believe Detroit will move on from Tavon Wilson in free agency. His injury still had a big impact on the season though because it allowed a different player an opportunity to shine in a new position.

Wilson is expected to return to full health, but considering how that shoulder lingered on for him, I’m concerned if he’ll be able to bounce back strong and stay healthy.
Either way, I wish him the best.
