Marques Colston

Look I get it. You think of Marques Colston and success comes to mind. For many years he was Drew Brees go to target at the receiver position in New Orleans. He’s a Super Bowl champion and holds the Saints records for both receiving yards and touchdowns.

But he’s also 32 years old. That’s two years older than the guy the Lions might be losing to retirement in the next two weeks. Colston only started five games for the Saints last season and hasn’t put up a 1,00 yard season since 2012. Plain and simple, Colston is not the answer to replace Calvin Johnson. He’s also not the answer for a third receiver. Perhaps if Joe Lombardi were still around and the Lions could get him super cheap for a year, it might be a possibility. But that’s not the case here.
