Detroit Lions Roster Prediction: Training Camp Edition
By Justin Simon
DEFENSIVE LINE (10)
- Ndamukong Suh
- Nick Fairley
- Ezekiel Ansah
- Jason Jones
- Devin Taylor
- Caraun Reid
- C.J. Mosley
- Darryl Tapp
- Larry Webster
- George Johnson
At this point, I see the defense continuing to run through the defensive line. I also think the Lions defense will have much more multiple sets and will need a deep rotation of guys to keep everyone fresh. Ten defensive linemen is a bit much, but not completely out of the question.
Ziggy Ansah has yet to practice as the writing of this piece, but he seems to be on track to practice and play at some point during the preseason. George Johnson has emerged in Ansah’s absence, but we still have yet to see if practice hype can translate into live action. Larry Webster has surprised me so far during camp.
All indications are that he’s bulked up and he could really have a spot as the open side defensive end in this defense. He’s still very raw, but if there’s one coaching unit that has proven their ability to coach guys up, it’s the defensive line coaches.
