Tyler Polumbus lasted just six days with the Detroit Lions after they claimed him off waivers from the Denver Broncos. He wasn’t going to have a spot with the Lions so they were able to trade him for a seventh round pick to the Seahawks, who had lost the waiver claim to the Lions.

Six days wasn’t enough to impress the Lions coaching staff but Polumbus has appeared to make his mark in Seattle, at least to some extent. With 2010 first-round draft choice Russell Okung out the lineup due to injury, Polumbus is the leader to start the regular season opener against the 49ers. While that certainly suggests the Seahawks have a high view of Tyler Polumbus, Pete Carroll’s press conference was less than confidence building. Carroll referred to his potential starting left tackle as “Troy” on four separate occasions.

Apparently six days is enough to get you traded and eight days is enough to earn a spot start. How many days until the team gets your name right?
