Just a quick reminder that the Detroit Lions are putting single game tickets on sale this morning at 10 am ET.

The Thanksgiving matchup with the Houston Texans, a primetime game against the Atlanta Falcons and divisional games against the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers figure to be the hot tickets in the early buying period.

The Lions home slate is impressive overall with additional games against number one overall pick Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts, a season opening tilt with the St. Louis Rams, the Seattle Seahawks and their fancy new Nike duds and the Minnesota Vikings.

Pricing information is available here.

Will you be buying tickets today?

Per Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com, the team will make single game tickets available in a matter of weeks:

Individual game tickets for 2012 Lions preseason and regular season games at Ford Field go on sale Tuesday, July 10 at 10 a.m.

— Tim Twentyman (@ttwentyman) June 27, 2012

The Lions didn’t release single game tickets for sale until August 24 last year. The late release was probably a strategy for getting as many people signed up for season ticket packages as possible. An increase in season ticket sales in 2011 combined with the team’s best season in over a decade probably led to high renewal rates and demand for new season ticket packages heading into the 2012 season. The earlier single game ticket release suggests the Lions are comfortable with their season ticket base and ready to move on to the next phase of ticket sales.

The hot tickets in 2012 figure to be the Thanksgiving game against the Houston Texans, late season tilts with the division rival Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears and the primetime game against the Atlanta Falcons to be played the Saturday before Christmas.

DetroitLions.com is still only showing a seating chart with pricing based on a full season ticket package. SideLion Report published the single game prices back in February based on what went out to season ticket holders in their renewal mailings, check it out here.

The Detroit Lions released 1,500 standing room only tickets to the Thanksgiving Day game against the Green Bay Packers this morning. The tickets were limited to four per customer at $50 each and apparently sold out in about a half hour.

Just over an hour after the sale began, almost 10% of the standing room only tickets have been placed for sale on StubHub. Resale prices ranged from about $95 to $135 when checked at 11:15 this morning. In all, about 5,200 tickets to the Thanksgiving Day are available on StubHub.
