Mlive’s Anwar Richardson is reporting that the Lions will get a visit from free agent wide receiver Tedd Ginn Jr. either today or tomorrow.

The former first-round draft pick spent three years in Miami before being traded to the 49ers for the last two seasons. While he’s shown some ability as a receiver his biggest impact has come as a return man. That combination could be a perfect fit for the Lions who are set with their top three receivers of Calvin Johnson, Nate Burleson and Titus Young but could use depth after that.

Maurice Stovall and Rashied Davis filled the rest of the wide receiver depth chart last year but neither has re-upped with the Lions and are now free agents. Ginn could solidify the number four receiver slot and replace Stafan Logan as the team’s return man. That kind of roster-spot value is just what the Lions need.

The Lions pulled the plug on the Derrick Williams experiment after training camp a year ago. Bringing in Ginn would be a way to get what they were looking for in Williams and upgrade over Stefan Logan with just one roster spot.

This space is generally used to review the five things I suggested to watch during that week’s game. Life kept me from putting together the five things to watch post for the game against the 49ers so this edition of five things in review will be a little different. Rather than sticking with the five things to watch (sicne I didn’t propose any), I’ll discuss five things that stuck out to me from yesterday’s game.
